๐Ÿ† HORIZON PvP TOURNAMENT ยท chapter 4 of 8

โš”๏ธ How a match works

Straight knockout

The format is simple: lose once and you are out. All matches of a round are fought at the same time, each in its own private arena. Sixteen players means eight matches, then four, then two, then the final. Between rounds, a 25-second break lets everyone get set.

If the number of fighters is odd, one player gets a bye and moves on without fighting.

How you win a match

A match lasts up to 5 minutes. Deaths are not counted, points scored are: every time you take your opponent down, you score a point. Whoever has the most when time runs out wins. You are raised automatically and the fight goes on, so a match does not end on the first death.

Do not leave the platform

The fight takes place on the arena platform and its walkway, up to the railing. Leaving it, for example by taking a staircase, gives your opponent a point and sends you straight back to your mark. It is no way out.

Draws and forfeits

In a knockout bracket a draw cannot stay a draw: on a perfect tie the winner is drawn by lot, and the draw is announced publicly.

A player who is away or disconnected when their match starts loses by forfeit. A win by forfeit pays no match token: only real fights count.
